A couple cool cats are working on a method for downgrading PSP firmware 6.35 to whatever earlier version... Davee being one, and the other being Hellcat! Now whether or not you're aware of this, Sony has introduced certain countermeasures in 6.35 that prevent (or slow down) the downgrading movement. Read more »

Simplifying the whole theme creation process for firmware 5.00 is Bubbletune & Davee with two handy tools -- VSH Module Descrambler (for Windows) and Scramble Patcher (for the PSP itself).

In 5.00 Sony took a different approach by no longer storing the floats in separate words, but instead loading them using opcodes.
