PSP will still go strong for some time, specially with that price, nintendo should have waited more to release the systems since the best titles havent even arrived yet ( I dont consider mario the best title), as far as vita its concerned sony should have released it worldwide so a proper pricedrop would have happened just like with 3ds, now sony has to fight a 170$ console using a 250$ one, seems obious the 3ds is gona win at least for now. I just hope this wait will bring goodies to US and EU (hardware revisions, more games, etc)

Why is this news?? The vita has only been out for what? a little over a month? Its new hardware with a "new" pricetag. Not to mention psp's are cheap and has a huge library of games. I want a vita myself but since there are still a ton of games I havent played on the psp yet I'm planning on getting a psp 3000 first. Its going to take some time and some more games before the vita starts selling alot. 

Sony of Japan still cares about the PSP and releases a healthy amount of games for it.  Sony Of America has virtually abandoned the PSP.  We get a real game for it every now and again but for the past 6 or 7 months its been just minis.  A PSP for games that aren't even PS1 quality.  There are some good minis but seriously, did anyone buy a PSP for minis.  So its not a total shock that japan still cares about the PSP.  Sony in japan has given them reason to care.  I think Vita will do slightly better in America because Uncharted is more popular here.  Although Uncharted as a franchise is losing its "cool" much like most Sony franchises.  Believe it or not Hot Shots Golf in japan did better then Uncharted in Japan for the Vita.  Shows how people in Japan feel about Uncharted.  Sony also isn't competing with itself because the PSP is all but a forgotten relic in America/Europe.  I dunno, lately the keyword with Sony is underperforming, virtually everything that is Sony exclusive underperforms in sales.  Not a failure necessarilyn, just not as successful as people would have assumed.  Ever since God Of War 3, every IP they've done has underperformed expectations.  Ever since the PS3 every piece of hardware they've done has underperformed too.  I can't totally explain why or give a theory.  They aren't bad at all...yet they just have lost so much interest from people in recent years.
