Back again ... neur0n with a touch of custom firmware goodness -- CFW and Light CFW 6.60 ME. Whatever your PSP model you'll find a compatible version: PSP-1000 (01g) and PSP-2000 (02g, non-TA088v3) should use the non-light version; while everyone else, including PSPgo owners, you ought to try LCFW.
It's ME or PRO... So what are you running?

Sweet! Neur0n's the man! ME ftw! :D
do u need the pandora battery
I know I must sound like a total noob but can someone please tell me the difference with the CFW and the LCFW. LCFW works on my psp 1001 model so why should I get the regular CFW instead of the LCFW.
CFW is always there. When you fully power off the system and restart it, it boots right back to the CFW. LCFW just kinda sits in memory. I have a PSP 3000 9g and use both OFW, LCFW 6.39 LME-9.4 and the 6.39 Pro-9B (nightly). But it is all up to you. It only takes 10 seconds to run the recovery or luancher eboot. there are other things the CFW might do, but I am just getting back up to speed myself. I had a psp 1000 1.50 model and got ride of it when DAX stoped making stuff. But the groups that took his place are doing a great job
CFW= Installed in flash (permanent)LCFW= Installed in memory (temporary)
Installed to my PSP1000 from 5.50 D2. Changed version.txt to be 5.50 before it would install.Issue, if I go into system settings, the PSP locks up and shuts down. :(
If you have Cxmb plugin on, that is most likely the problem. Turn that off, and your problem will be fixed
Thank you sir. :) Fixed. Been googling like mad trying to figure that out.
Oh... seems any settings options lock up the console. :( If I boot on OFW (pressing Home) everything works ok.
M33 all the way :P
Words spoken by god himself
wat is the latest M33?
5.00
M33 IS DEAD. damn get over it already gen was better anyways. At least with the PRO and ME series, you can load the newer games pre-patched (KH-BBS, The 3rd Birthday, etc, etc) m33 is no longer been developed, it has been dead for almost 2 years now, upgrade people (BTW to the people having trouble downgrading, use Hellcats Recovery Flasher V1.65, it WILL DOWNGRADE ALL (even 6.60) FWs or CFWs
Still runing 6.20 PRO-B8 waiting for a 6.60 CFW for my PSP3004 03g model.
Hey... my PSP working on 5.55 GEN_D2..It says that no need to update.. system version 9.90..I really want to use 6.60 ME :(Please Help .. :(
you have to edit the version.txt in "flash0" and change it to 5.55 or any number lower than 6.60
thanks ! i hope that works.. =D
You should find that option in the recovery menu. you need to enable it and then connect your psp to the computer and go find the "version.txt" file in vsh folder and change the number to 5.55. Make sure to disable it after you're done before attempting to update to 6.60 ME. Good luck!
hmm.. anyway, where i can find flash0 ?
does it work with psp go? thanks for reply :)
I'm running M33-6. Respect.
tanx for the update!
i have psp3001 6.20 pro b8should i update my psp to 6.60?whats the differences between the firmwareand whats the risk if is use this cfw?
well it wont do much youll get psn and play online some more psx support i think but personally im waiting until a ctf gui official update so my custom themes will work but its up to you if everything is working well on 6.20 pro b8 then theres no need for you to update
So if I got a new psp 3000, i shouldn't use the cfw 6.60 pro, but instead use the lcfw 6.60 ME right? can someone tell me why that is?
You can use both with no problems.
ok cool, thanks. is it the same situation for the pspgo? and is the cfw enabler needed for anything?
Yeah you can dual-boot with the PSPGo also and no there isn't any reason you would need the cfw enabler. That's what your cfw is for :)
dont use the cfw use the lcfw as the 3000s reset any cfws after powering off, where as lcfws do the same, they are alot quicker to boot back up
That doesn't even make sense. You can't put a cfw on a 3000. It has to be a lcfw or a hen.
hey i have a stupid question,if i have 6.39 pro-b7 can i get 6.00 m33? and how what are the steps? please! im asking 'cause when i get ctf on my psp 1001, the games dont load anymore. if u want u can mail me at : 'himom226@hotmail.ca'
...wthat is this ctfand yes u can but u might have to downgrade first
wow MEcfw is even better than PROcfw!!!the games run more smooth on me!i recoment you people download this instead of pro
I agreed, ME is working like a charm for me as well.
yea
Going to Gamestop, which version of the psp should i get used? I would like to use CFW.
psp 200xx=1,2,3,4,5
ok great, but why 200x and not 3000?
Simple, 2000 model is fully hackable & unbrickable via pandora if necessary.
Thanks, that is very helpful.
Installed all ok but when power on psp green light opens, reed for a bit mms and then black screen and after a while it powers off. To enter 6.60 i have to boot to recovery menu remove mms press exit and then it boots normally. Any help?
i think your psp is bricked
re install? dont know mate i never had that problem. use hellcats v1.65 to downgrade to 5.00 or older, try again hope this helps
Does this work for psp-3001. Iv never done this to my psp. Im still on firmware on 5.55. I was going to up grade it to 6.20 and hack it on that but Im not sure. Any suggestions?
I see that people say that their psp is 1g 2g 3g ext... So what does that mean and how do I finewhat mine is. All i know is that mine is psp-3001.
1000=1g2000=2g3000=3g,4g,7g,&9gGO=5gE1000=11gIt has to do with what firmware modules the mobo revision can run. 6.60LME or Pro can run on any of them. 6.60ME can only run on 1g/2g.
does it have to be exactly 1000 or 2000 because i have version 2002, would it make any differences, say would it brick because im 2 years older than i was supposed to be??
Take your battery out & make sure it doesn't say 8C. If it says 8C somewhere under the battery then you have a TA-0088v3 mobo & will have to use the LME version. Otherwise use the ME version.
I installed CFW 6.60 ME v1.3 and no matter which ISO mode I pick in the recovery menu, all CSO games try to load with NP9660 and then the PSP turns off. I can't get anything to load now no matter which ISO mode I choose (tried them all). Ideas? Suggestions?
