Back 'n better than ever -- Half Byte Loader (or HBL) R118 for PSP Firmware 6.60! And it's for 6.60 only -- signed and ready to go.
All you need to do is unzip the package you're about to download to the root of your memory stick, keeping the directory structure intact. Instructions are included (README.txt) if you're not sure what's what. Then load up your memory stick/ internal storage with all the homebrew you find here. Have fun!
Note: You really only need HBL R118 for unsigned homebrew ... and if you're on 6.60.
HBL 4 life.

Waaah! I completely forgot about HBL[Shame on me]! I'm still sporting 6.20 PRO, but great news nonetheless.
Yeah I've been kind of curious about HBL - I mean, we already have the keys and can sign our homebrew, it doesn't seem like we'd need it anymore; the only reason to use PRO (which I use as well) is for XMB integrated ISOs and plugins and stuff, which HBL can't do (aside from ISOs)..
It is easier to sign one homebrew which loads all the other unsigned then to sign any single programm. That is why HBL is usefull
That's not the point; we have custom firmware already which runs unsigned programs. I mean, HBL was created before the keys were discovered and it was a godsend to us with the 083 v3 mobo, but now that we can sign custom firmware we don't really need a dedicated homebrew runner. I'm not saying I don't appreciate his work, like I said it was a godsend when we were still in the dark ages and 3.00 firmware runners were gloating over how they had more power than us, but what's the benefit of this program now to us?EDIT: Aside from, obviously, being able to run homebrew on new firmware just as it comes out, since all he has to do is change the key and away we go. That's the only benefit I can see (since this was pretty much the first thing, aside from ME, to run homebrew on 6.60).
there is no "signed" CFW for a reason >_<ill let you guess why
One step hacking 6.60! Nice one devs!
it doestn work on psp 3001 model plz fix that the screen goes blank or i am not putting the files in the right place
Mine also the same. Doesn't work at all on psp 3001.
what is HBL >>????
The problem is either your psp has the wrong firmware or the hbl is for the wrong firmware. In other words make sure you psp firmware is the same as the firmware the hbl program is for.
For those of you that do not know how to cheack what firmware type your psp has follow the instructions below:
1.go to system or the icon to the very right.
2.then system settings
3.then go under system info and it should tell you the firmware that you have.
Sorry that I can't give you accerate instuctions I have not been on psp in a wile and can't currently get on right now.
i installed hbl r118 for 6.60 on my psp 2001 with 6.60 firmware now it wont play any UMD discs any ideas?
