gpSP-J 110402 & FBA4PSP 110319 - Game Boy Advance & FinalBurn Alpha Updated

For better or for worse two updated emulators from who I believe to be two anonymous Japanese developers. What's new? Your guess is as good as mine... What I can tell you though is these two emulators originate from Exophase and OopsWare, gpSP and FBA4PSP respectively. Plus it's been awhile since we've seen updates for either emulator.

gpSP-J emulates the Nintendo Game Boy Advance; it boasts great performance and compatibility. FBA4PSP is a port of FinalBurn Alpha, an emulator mimicking some classic arcade hardware: Capcom CPS-1, CPS-2 and CPS-3, SNK Neo-Geo, Toaplan, Cave, Taito F2/F3, and Sega System 16/18.

Both are signed, ready to go...

sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i thought they wer done with gameboy

This is awesome that people are continuing work on emulators for the PSP!As for the actual gpSP emulator, there's still quite a bit of screen tearing in certain games. Also, there's more slowdown than previous releases when a lot of objects are on the screen.

so the previous one is better than this(GBA)?

From what I've seen so far, yes. I've never once experienced a slowdown in the original English one. However, I haven't put a lot of time into this release.

I haven't had any problems at all with gpSP. I just beat all 6 Megamans and I have nothing but praise for this emulator :)

I must say that this is substantially better than the English release. The Update Backup option is available to be set as a default for every game simultaneously, and the text is much easier to read. the only problem was finding the option to get it into english... But it's there.

I've tested Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age. GS runs very smoothly but still has some slowdown in battle scenes every time someone strikes a blow, but it's very playable. And as for GS TLA, this emulators done a great job emulating it, i've tested many emulators but this one is the best by far, the sound is very good and the speed too, only problem is the same as GS, some slowdowns on battle and when using psynergy. Great job unknown developer!

How far did you play?  Get to a water Djinni.  That's where it crashes on every other GBA emulator.  Because of that it's one game I have to use my DS or GBA if I want to play it portable.

FBA didn't work on CFW 6.35. What a shame I was looking forward to play the new PGM roms.

Now that is sweet

The only reason to still own a psp besides of course playing psp games.

erm, thats like saying you only own your ipod to play games, besides listening to music. there really isnt much else it does, so its not that amazing of a statement.

how do u run the gpsp it just has some Japanese words then i hit x then it just goes to the main menu of the psp i need help

you need a gba bios

i do use the bios its there but if i restart it click it again Then it saysku_bridge.prx Then if i push X Square O R L ~><~^V Still wont work please contact me @ yanitot05@yahoo.com thankx

ok so when you boot the emu up, it should go to the rom selection screen, press x to back and then go to the fifth option on the menu screen. go down to the second last option and press -> on the d-pad. select the last button, press L to open up the rom menu, select a rom and then press triangle and it should be in english. Posted by Linhat. After you do that, exit the gpsp, and then open it again, all will be in English...

I suppose it still works with 5.00 m33-6 so... how's CPS-3 support (which I know is crazy shit to ask about) looking? Also, I have the previous revision of the GBA emu that I know of, but since I installed Game Catagories, the zip support died, will this bring it back... or...?

Does this actually work on OFW? It boots, but as someone else mentioned, just gives you two lines of Japanese characters, then exits back to the XMB when you press a key

Noob's you will need to download the gba_bios.bin file for Game Boy Advance.... For gpSP-J 110402 to work.... Put the gba_bios file in the same folder as the EBOOT.

Heh, thanks! It now gives me 3 lines of Japanese text, then exits back to the XMB.An improvement at least...

you probably didnt put any roms in the folder.

Unofficial gpSP Kai is still the best. Takka, I miss u! =(

The best gpSP is still the PRO-A mod by virtuousflame... It's full speed on all of my games.

After testing this gpSP and every other version around, I've concluded: 1.- NO version is faster than Uo gpSP Kai 3.4.3 and NO version has such a solid framerate, even in lower clock speeds. Most of my games run perfectly at 266MHz and no frame-skipping! @.@*2.- Sound is either ok in all of them or sux in all of them, since no version has a really good sound (specially this one, it sux >.<)So, that's it guys, if you can run Uo gpSP Kai 3.4.3 in your cfw, then use it and u won't regret ;)*If you keep lowering clock speed (below 266MHz), you get games running slow motion, but very very consistently, but of course I did that just for testing purposes =P

this version of gpSP has a really smooth framerate for me and the sound emulation is excellent. dont know whats wrong with your version bro.

official gpSP 0.9 works great for me.I like Kai too though. I really dont see a difference, but i know donkey kong country lagged on kai.

The game list for FBA4PSP does not list any mvs, cps or cps2 game, has the support for them been removed from this version?

I guess it's just the Cave system, though the EBoot rivals the size of previous versions of the complete emu set. It confused the hell out of me, too.

Everything is Japanese, I can't read it, how do I go about changing it to English?

one of the options does allow you to change it. heres a guide (note ive got it in english myself so im sorry if i get things wrong for you)ok so when you boot the emu up, it should go to the rom selection screen, press x to back and then go to the fifth option on the menu screen. go down to the second last option and press -> on the d-pad. select the last button, press L to open up the rom menu, select a rom and then press triangle and it should be in english.

Thanks bro... now i got the options all in English...

Finally, after searching for a gpsp working on cfw 5.50 gen-b, it's works now... Game's run smoothly...

home button no longer brings up the emulator menu in the newest GPSP-J :(

hi guys i m using psp 3004 6.31 also HBL sukkri for isoi hav tried allmost all i cud to play GBA games on it....wat shud i download and how to install on my psp so as to play GBA games.....kkindly help

why this version doest have a cheat compared with previous version gpsp kai

this works pefectly! but u need the gba bios. dowload link for gba bios: http://www.mediafire.com/?c3bq...

This showed up as corrupted data and when I pressed triangle my PSP had some heavy lag. It showed that the file was 40 gig big. Which is not true since I have 16 gig memory. And it could not be deleted like usual so I went in though my pc and deleted the file. Now this is when I notice that all my games are gone. This is sad since I have limited space on my PC, I choose to only have the games on my memory card.

I am currently on 6.39 PRO-B8

If you extracted it, check that you dont have a folder inside a folder, otherwise it will show as corrupt data.

the only thing I get when i start it up is a black screen and some japanese letters in Katakana form, I've no idea what it says and any button i press takes me back to the main psp menu. help?
