PSP Firmware 6.31 Released
Right on schedule -- Sony releases PSP Firmware 6.31. I reckon you don't update. We'll keep you posted on any findings.
I repeat: DO NOT UPDATE. If you update you will lose all homebrew capabilities. No homebrew, no plugins, no nothing. I would only suggest you update and check it out if your PSP is Pandora-enabled.
Update: Niiice... J416 is reporting (see here) that his exploit is indeed working on 6.31. I guess keeping the game name secret wasn't such a bad idea after all. Still -- don't update -- not yet.

hey '"Greg" and everyone here,i said i was gonna update and i did,somethings wrong with this firmware,or maybe this is what Sony put to finally patch CFW,but i looked up CFW or anything that had to do with psp homebrew on the psp browser but it "BLOCKS" the letters with "SCRIBLES" you think thats what Sony put?or is this the 6.31 firmware?
So, Sony is censoring CFW from the web now?
I don't know what guy is talking about... I checked it out, 6.31 is not censoring my browsing at all.
Edit:Nope somethings wrong with this OFW 6.31,i know i have Pandora and downgrade but my psp's busted,cant i tell sony to replace it because of the 6.30 Update? it messed up my PSP's browser bigtime

Okay, so OFW 6.31 has a major browser bug, now there's defiantly a reason not to update. Maybe this could be useful though... Or just a useless major bug. I'll see what I come up with.
One more thing, very shocking if they found a way to prevent pandora.

They cannot block pandoras on pandora-enabled psp's. Firmware does not control the response to the pandora battery, otherwise it would have stopped working a looooong time ago. Besides that, sony used to fix PSP's in their labs using a pandora battery like device.
I know that. I said that pandora comment in a joking matter. But still thought. Crazy if in a year or 2 they completely stop CFW.

omg i reckon sony are gonna keep releasing stupid, useless updates and nobody is going to update. Do you think sony will try and get people to update by adding new things to there updates? And P.S: I looked at the 6.30 download and there has only been 155 downloads, DO NO UPDATE PPL!
i think 6.30 must have a major bug thats y thy released 6.31 so quickly..Maybe to patch it!!!!never updated to 6.3x !!!!coz it had nthng !!!Many who like GOW i think will have to update to play it!!(GO users)!!!Lol!!!
Probably there will be an exploit in the browser of the 6.31. I hope a kernel one!

i have found an bug in the web browser. its a .swf file. it will play but after a few seconds the psp will freeze(not crash)... sry for my bad english

If they messed with the web browser than they're probably was a bug in it... And the browser is kernel mode...
Tried LOL123's link on go 6.3no crash - "cant display content"anyone else tried it?
