Hack master, mamosuke, has discovered another vulnerability in a Japan-regioned UMD title. This isn't the same "Hello World" by J416 shown here -- same concept, different game. I post this because a) mamosuke is the real deal, and b) to give hope for those less fortunate; being homebrew-less at firmware 6.30 sucks.
Accompanying the video is a FAQ between pspgen and mamosuke. Let me translate (by way of Google):
Q. What is this exploit?
Translated: It is an exploit in a backup of a PSP game that runs on the latest official firmware.
Q. We want to know what this game is... Please!
Translation: I cannot reveal the name of the game, but only give you a video. My exploit currently works with the Japanese version, but in fact it is available in other regions and I think that these versions have the same vulnerability.
Q. The video shows nothing. This is probably a fake?
Translation: For the moment, I am working on a homebrew loader. If I give the name of the game, Sony will kill my exploit before I distribute anything with a new firmware.
Q. Is this the same exploit as that of J416?
Non, c'est un autre exploit.
Translation: No, this is another exploit.
Q. When will it be available?
Translation: I will think twice before making it available. But I know I will make it public once I have the results; at least I do not release Hello World like malloxXX stupid as this that made available to the Hello World Patapon 2 for the first time. But if Sony patches my exploit, I will make available.
Q. Is there a demo of this game? Can I buy it on PSN?
Translation: I've never seen a demo with a backup (and the guy he is wrong, ie). You can find a downloadable version on the PSN, but I tried my exploit on my PSP GB and it freezes when loading the backup.
Not the clearest translation, I know. Feel free to provide a better, more accurate one via the comments. Nice work, mamosuke.

Yeh,keep up the g00d work, maybe someday we will get an vsh based Xploit so that all user`s have the chance to enjoy good homebrew`s like emulators, gotube and so on
Hopefully this means firmware 6.30 will soon be resolved!
lol, that's actually first mamosuke's exploit and u calling him hack master already :)
Hopefully the UMD region being Japan doesn't make a difference in the exploit.
meaningless exploit that will lead to nothing like most...its not that i wouldnt like for it to work but like most of the latest exploit lead to nothing more than a news on the scene ...DA where are you!!!!
working for sony making new encryption thingy maybe?
Pretty sure 6.40 or something would roll out soon. lol.
I thought I heard somewhere that 6.30 was the last...but if they are making a new psp model then i really doubt it
When he says he tried the exploit on psp gb (he mean psp go), it freezes when he load from backup.
@flyer actually he has found a few other exploits in games (j416's) and he really IS the real deal
Woah! That's awesome! Except it's going to lead to absolutely nothing, just like all the other exploits. The biggest obstacle to homebrew/CFW's isn't Sony, it's diva dev's.
Hey greg, In the question "The video shows nothing. This is probably a fake?", the first line in the answer isnt translated. What it says is "For the moment, I am working on a homebrew loader." You might want to put this in, since the second sentence makes more sense with it in there. Also, everytime there is the word "feat" in the translation, it is supposed to be "exploit", but I think people can figure that out.
Cool man, thanks
^^ Great Job !!! These guys are heros. But, I wonder if Mamosuke is working just for a homebrew loader (like HBL), or for a way to actvate a cwf on 6.30?

I am romanian and i know French and English, non of them perfectly, but this translation it's more accurate than the Google one.
haklm, dude, i know it's real better than u, and ya know, mamosuke was just tester for j416's exploit and this one is his first exploit. And probably, u'd better read older news on game exploits, just to know why i'm cofident in what i sayin'
@CheesethiefThat's not always the case. Especially if the exploit uses a game that's only available through the PSN store. If they were to pre-maturely announce the exploit, or release a "Hello World", Sony would pull that game down immediately and patch it. Thus, rendering the exploit useless. This applies to PSP Go users mostly, as they depend on the PSN store for everything.
Keeping exploits secret is the most retarded idea I have ever heard. Release it before it is patched (Sony can and does search for exploits themselves and patch them without announcement). If you release it after it is patched, chances are, you're little exploit will be useless. If you release it, even before you have an eloader, chances are, people will download it and wait for the homebrew loader, just like the HBL patapon exploit. That is doing terrifically well. All other "wait till sony patches it" or "wait till I get an eloader going" have all been wash ups lately and I am not expecting anything more from this one. It does not matter if sony releases a patch after you have released your exloit since people will have already downloaded the exploit and will know not to update or buy a newer UMD, etc.
I agree with you
Yeah, I'd keep them secret and try to use them to find a kernel exploit to make them actually useful. I guess releasing one every so often helps keep hopes up though.
Oh yeah, and of course a lot of these videos leak information that Sony can easily use to identify the game. A quick shot of the screen here or there, a sound effect, etc. Even just demonstrating it gives out a lot of information in how it works, roughly how long it takes between starting the game and running the exploit, etc, which helps them find it.
That's what I've been saying man! Kudos
Cheesethief, its not up to you to decide. Its his work and he can do whatever he want with it.
Nice... else Must have Developed a hen...typhoon in 6.10 ofw works greatits a hen i think it boot directlybut that fucking creator does not released in public... useless...so we are using only an hbl...
Yeah, no shit it is not mine. I am just saying it is RETARDED to keep it secret. There is absolutely no point. Most "secret" exploits, if you look at recent scene history, end up being nothing. Especially when sony patches it before it is out, then most people will not even be able to use it. A lot of exploits aren't even ever released.
so if you really want homebrew that bad then you should NEVER update.
Fine I will leak the japanese game, it is............ lol yea right keep up the good work and one day may be user mode and play backed up games. They keep it hidden so sony dont know what one it is and cannot pull it as fast this way. They have there reason and I guess we all have to sit patiently for it.
I agree with you cheesethief. No one is suggesting that he HAS to leak the game Bearmon, but you can't argue with Cheesethief's point about recent exploit history. Concealing the name of the game is pointless for 2 reasons:1) announcing an exploit like this and then waiting to reveal the game only builds more hype, giving Sony more time to monitor the exploit and pull the game once it is revealed. 2) you also allow sony more time to search for said exploit and find it themselves and subsequently patch it.I think this exploit is real, but I have to agree with SteveSteve. It's nice that someone may find another exploit but the real thing holding back the PSP lately (in terms of decent homebrew loading) is a lack of willingness from devs to create CFWs. I'm not trying to talk shit on devs (quite the contrary I thank them for their hard work) but there seems to be a notion amongst PSP devs nowadays that CFW is wrong. It sucks and it's dumb but until we get a CFW there really is nothing left to get excited about. Wololo already has a great emu loader in the Half-Byte loader. We don't need any more exploits unless they will lead to a CFW.
Aargh man ... Chant with me ... Dark Alex,Dark Alex,Dark Alex ... We need him! Will we ever hear of a '6.30 M33' CFW?Will '6XX GEN' ever manifest?Remember 'MAD' CFW?'Metismo' and 'Utopia' ... Just putting this out there in the universe in the hope that we see a brand new firmware, like a 'K.I.T.T 2.0' ...
u can cry all u like da isnt coming backall we have to sing about is hbl, so an exploit in 6.3 is a good thing especially if it can be adapted to run hbl
@flyerdude you really shouldn't get pissed about that..
as long as it cannot play ISO it will remain useless just like the rest. we really dont need exploits, we need a CFW! 16gb of useless memory on the psp go full of junk demos. DA dont even have exploit news he just give players what they really need; CFW! No SHIT ADDED.
haklm, sure not. who said i'm pissed by that?;) simply saying u're wrong:)
why ur showed us that ?? it means nothing to me:/ maybe u shold keep the news like that to yourself than making hope users that think it will be miracle and run isos??
@flyer K :p@krljust wait ....be patient
@krl, lol there won't be any miracles and user mode exploit won't ever run isos. but it's still able to handle homebrew load, as we can see hbl is developing and supporting more and more homebrews and gaining more features
if its only for hb why then dont release taht exploit for every one??
Piracy is bad. You shouldn't buy an unhackable PSP if you DO want to pirate. It's your own fault if you don't do your research before you get a PSP.I would love a CFW that couldn't play ISO/CSO games.
Jesus christ... I love how every moron watching the PSP scene assumes that iso loading is ONLY pirating. Yes, I'm well aware that most folks use iso loading for piracy, but many people don't.Honestly, I wouldn't mind no CFW at all if the PSN just had support for even MOST of the PSP's library. As it stands though, there are a plethora of great games that are not, and will never be, a part of the PSP Go's available library without an iso loader. To sum up: I'll buy the games if they're made available but well over half of the great PSP games out there are un-purchasable on the PSN. And since there are no plans for that to change, most of us are left hoping a scene dev will remedy that...
And people wonder why the PSP scene is dying. They complain when they have the latest CFW, they complain when they don't. Complain no matter what. Well S my D ya'll.That said, good job mamosuke, keep up the good work.
hope you guys success on the 6.30
by the way im from the phillippines,i got psp 3000 i bought from japan last year and being a noob got it 6.30 using wifi.what a waste ha?anyway im just hoping somebody would help me and other 6.30 versions out there, ganbatte! mamosuke! , sorry for interrupting i just cant stand out just reading on this site,,
iso loadnig is only for piracing i have piarted many of psp games and im proud of taht i didint bought them coz they are not worth money i have only five prated games on psp only because they werent in shops in my town
you're an idiot. it's as simple as that
..............I'm lost LOL.
iot is only an usermode exploit
oh the psp hackers are so lame (except dark alex rip) get an idevice thats where the great hackers are. i got a psp with 60 iso games. my ipod touch full of apps and games that i download for free.
Get out.
I think that he should either release the loader before posting or give it to some one who will make a loader. Showing a video is not a wise idea until you have something. This doesn't really benefit me much anyway because my psp 3k is 5.03 but it's interesting.
how comes the NEW firmware is progressing faster than the old?I think sony may have screwed thereselves on this one.On the other hand good for me!Sent it in to get serviced and get it back with ofw 6.30 F M L
