What a lovely surprise to wake up to... No, not a stripper, I wish... I'm talking about FreePlay's newest YouTube videos. YouTubers who are subscribed to FreePlay's channel already know what they're about to watch. Those who aren't, well, have a gander at this:
And this one too... The PSP gets g0wned, accompanied by an awesome soundtrack.
FreePlay also mentions:
(Scratch some of that... You can read/write flash1)
No, it's not going to lead to custom firmware, piracy, or a Pandora for the Go. It can't write to flash0,
and it even seems to be unable to overwrite the system settings, which was always unblocked before on the older systems. It's user-mode only.
Regardless -- it's something all right. Perhaps we'll see more GO 'brew sooner rather than later. And as always, good lookin' out FreePlay.

YAY, an exploit.Hopefully we'll get something like the TIFF exploit for ChickHEN before long.
"No, not a stripper" Rofl! Anyway, looks like good news. :)
Why does he keep moving the camera away. Just point the damn thing at the screen and do everything, otherwise im not believing it.
I guess to not show the game, which is lumines btw.^ I think that might be stated somewhere.
Why the hell, did you just say that?Wow...just wow.
Scratch that.Glad it's not Lumines. If anyone finds out what it is...Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, say it.This might be our only chance to crack this thing.
It's inevitable Paradigm; someone'll blurt it out eventually. ._.But on a side note: LOL. PSPGo got owned.
lumines is not on the PSN Store. So how could he be running lumines?
/sarcasm tag will be used next time.
Haha. This has to be some sort of record.-high fives Freeplay--high fives greg for no reason at all-
word. -high fives back-
No you know you wanted to give Greg a high five because of the stripper comment ;-)
Yes. Yes I did.
OMG a Stripper!!!no it's just the psp go with ofw 5.70
/hides boner with his psp phat.
you can't hide a boner with thepsp go but you can with the phatiione more thing the(go)does not have
I say Sony will release 6.11 or 6.20 by next week or before November.
Seriously why is it whenever he's doing something on the psp he moves it away so we cant see whats he running and
Wow! An exploit already, that was certainty fast.
man, that made my wkend...specially the 'hello world' vid. and on the 1st vid where he typed " sorry sony....go=hacked" lol.......guess what I'm buying on my next payday........My benjamin says we'll have some sort of CFW by the time holidays arrive.Took longer to 'hack' the 3000.I read somewhere DA is working on the ps3 and wont appear til he shows us something along the words "HELLO WORLD" ~sincerely Dark_AleX...FROM THE PS3!!!!!!!!!
Bullshit.I belive dax just disapeared from the scene, just like before.Maybe he will appear later.
He may, he may not.But we still have some talented people in the PSP scene.
well said Paradigm! but as for Dark_Alex, he never owes us anything, and could've stopped making CFW at 4.00M33 just my 2 cents ;)
DAX and team m33 are awsome, but DAX has been MIA for a while and his site has been down for a while suposedly for maintenance.I hope im wrong but i think DAX my have decided to do things for him self just for fun and not actualy publicize his new CFW. who knows maybe he has done every CFW since 5.00 m33-6 but just kept them for whatever reason or maybe he just found better things to do with his time.
That's what I'm thinking. If he comes back, we'll all greet him with open arms.If he doesn't...Well, he was a pioneer. We won't soon forget him.But we have great coders still here.Still making the PSP better and better. We can't forget about them either.
I agree 100%
its jzt the typical user mode of the pspgo. idi0t! lol...
It does help when the exploit is already known :P And no, it's not Lumines, or any other game with a public exploit.BTW, the bit about "it even seems to be unable to overwrite the system settings" isn't true - my code was just glitchy. You can read/write flash1 just fine.
And as for why I'm not showing the screen: I'm trying to KEEP SONY FROM PATCHING THIS, so I don't what them to know what game it is. I even say this in the video -_-
Thanks.I was hoping that was the reason.Glad you're smarter then ChickHEN.
Exactly. I'm glad ur smart and not an idiot with ur videos man.
sorry my stupidity here, but what exactly does "User Mode" means? from what i understood we can now execute "unwanted" code on the pspgo, doesn't that mean we'll eventually be able to run homebrew and stuff like that?
They've breached security level 1, allowing them to take over the game. Games are restricted from things that would be necessary for any HEN or CFW. For that they need to breach level 2 (kernel mode). It makes sense not to reveal what game is being used, because if Sony patches it before they find a kernel-mode exploit, it won't be much use. If I were them I wouldn't have even announced it in public until I had both, but oh well.
Maybe homebrew, NOT piracy
Thats good and bad depending on what you want. Its good if you want to run apps like emulators and ect, bad if you want to play any games not on the psn ;)
Well even if you could run isos, it would be pointless in the sense I'm sure "GO" games are eboots.
But how hard would it be for someone to come up with a program that turns an iso into an eboot. Same principle as turning a PSX disk image into an eboot isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong. I may very well be;
There is always the choice of the end user, I would get the Go when it is cheaper, as of right now, only $50 more and you could buy a PS3 and it`s more expensive than a Wii or an Xbox 360, that isn`t worth it. Especially when you consider the pricing on most of these PSN games, it`s ridiculous. However, I do stand by the NO piracy thing. The games are EBOOTs, but since there is a firmware addition for the older models, the flash0 is the same as the older models except for some additions. What I mean is, PSPGo, if given the correct stuff can read ISOs.
Oh snap!! Thats what im talking about. Emulators and homebrew. I think dax may be back for this.
Sony did a good job with the PSP GO this I see.
hm.. only if the ipl on both system worked then ta-088v3 and the go would team up in a cage match lol!!!
well i hope this leads to something..... if it does im going to toss all of my umd games in a pile and lite em on fire (lol) it was a post and smash my psp 2000 and get a psp go
that would be cool if this lead to a kernel exploit.... mabey a hen of temporary cfw.... or even better.... a real cfw
If this ever leads to something, maybe I'll consider buying a pspGo.
some people may call you a pirate just because you are thinking of buying one just because they found an exploit. not me mind you just some people. I say go for it, this just proves that its little things like this that can cause anything from a slight to a huge jump in sales.Matter of fact when the iluminati explit came out a long time ago that ran on the lumines game i read that the sales of that game that had already been out for a long time skyrocketed now get this something like 1400% in just a few days. if thats not profit for sony i dont know what is.
I bet you that prompted them to make a sequel.
actualy i think this whole thing went down well after the sequel was released, so just imagin how sony felt that all of a suden the original was selling way, way better then the sequel.
Alex I agree with you, this will most likely convince others to actually buy the Go now. Sony will benefit from this. Anyone who was afraid of purchasing a Go because of the price and not being able to hack it will start changing their minds and ACTUALLY buy it, in fact I'm already saving up for one. Good job FreePlay you're the man keep up the good work.
@ Freeplay if you still read thisIt is my belief that the data for the saved state of suspended games is stored in one of the flashes. Did you happen to notice or see anything after the dump to back this up? If it's stored in Flash1 then could something come out of modifying the saved state data and writing it back, and have the modifications executed when one chooses to resume the game?
That's very clever I think you're onto something big, but then again if the files are in flash1 how can they affect flash0? Hopefully someone can find a workaround for this.
