Yoshihiro's 5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter Released *Updated*
Update: Problems? Yoshihiro's Games Decrypter V2 should solve it. Give Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 a try now. And if you're experiencing the black screen problem, change the UMD mode. I've had much success using the M33 driver.
We told ya... Now prepare yourself for absolute pandemonium... Nevermind PSP Custom Firmware 5.55 or 6.00; Yoshihiro has released his 5.55 and 6.00 Games (EBOOT.BIN) Decrypter.
In short: use this tool to decrypt the firmware 5.55 or 6.00 EBOOT.BIN from whatever [legitimately purchased UMD] game, build an ISO image using UMDGen with the decrypted EBOOT, and botta bing botta boom -- you're playing on Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B.

All right, all right... I picked up my copy of MotorStorm earlier today and here's the process I took. But first let me tell you about my PSP:
- 5.50 GEN-B2
- VshMenu is [currently] disabled; I got my reasons. You can no doubt skip a couple steps if you're using it.
- UMD Mode: M33 driver -NO UMD-
- MotorStorm (US) UMD
The steps:
- Install 5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter like any other homebrew.
- Boot into 5.50 GEN's recovery console by holding R-TRIGGER on boot.
- Go to Configuration -> XMB Usb Device -> change to UMD Disc.
- Enable USB mode from the XMB; copy UMD9660.ISO to your local; open UMDGen.
- In UMDGen open the UMD9660.ISO file.
- Navigate to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR; highlight EBOOT.BIN; right-click -> Extract Selected...
- Save it somewhere; boot into the recovery console again (See step 1); set the USB mode back to Memory Stick (See step 2).
- Enable USB from the XMB again; copy the encrypted EBOOT.BIN to your memory stick root.
- Exit out of USB mode and run the Games Decrypter app.
- Enable USB mode one more time.
- If you closed UMDGen, reopen it and open UMD9660.ISO; browse to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR.
- From the newly created DECRYPTOR directory on your memory stick, drag & drop the unencrypted EBOOT.BIN to the right windowpane in UMDGen overwriting the original file.
- Save the ISO; copy it to the ISO directory on your memory stick.
- You're done.

does this work with 5.00m33-6 cause i use alot of homebrew and ive heard that 5.50 gen isnt that good with homebrew games
it works on 5.00 m33, ive tried it with Gran TTurismo and Motorstorm
I tried with motorstorm and dirt 2 and they don't work!!!5.00 m33
i tried it with beaterator and it did not work ......I have 5.0 m33 ... please help..
Do you need the UMD to run the decryptor?
con2vp1 :) was mostly right this works on iso's you need 5 50 gen i installed the newest gen b 2 and it plays the games after decryption method my 5.00 m33-6 froze every time i tried. and the gen b-2 started instantly. So you dont need the umd. SO ..... Try not to be a pirate use this for if you own the umd and dont want to use all your battery running a umd all the time + mine makes to much noise the umd drive that is. I just wish there was a 1.50 kernel add on so i can play some homebrew that will no longer start :(

no its when i started that decrpyter thingy my screen turned all black and turned offthen i tryed to turn it on and it wont turn on

Is it EBOOT.INI or EBOOT.BIN, since I do not see any EBOOT.INI in the decrypted ISO file using UMDGEN?

try disable all your plugins
i can tell u whats the problem if u see a folder in the ums thats say "update" then u need to modofided the eboot inside this folder. its happen with try to modofided the eboot of fifa 2010 and dirt i think.try and see.
Dude didn't work the first time for some reason tried it all again and worked flawlessly. just double check it.

PEOPLE LISTEN UP AS I READ THROUGH THESE COMMENTS I FOUND 2 COMMON PROBLEMS WITH PEOPLE TRYING TO RUN THIS DECRYPTER AND GAMES. PROBLEM NUMBER ONE IS THAT PEOPLE ARE RUNNING TOO MUCH PLUGINS AND SOME OF YOU ARE RUNNING THE OLD CFW 5.00M-33 WHICH I CANT REALLY SAY THAT IT WOULD NOT WORK, BECAUSE FOR OTHERS IT DID WORKED FOR THEM. AND IF THE GAME DOES NOT WORK ON THE CFW 5.00M-33 TRY UPGRADING ON THE LATEST ONE WHICH IS THE CFW 5.55GEN-B IF YOU DONT WANT TO UPGRADE BECAUSE IT WILL RUIN YOUR PLUGINS WELL ITS EITHER THAT OR RUNNING YOUR GAMES YOU WANT TO PLAY OR LAST OPTION JUST GIVE UP AND BUY THE ORIGINAL GAME ITSELF. I specifically bought the games, however the only way to play them is to rip them and patch them in someway because the current custom firmware doesn't support playing those games through the umd. so don't go around saying buy the game and support them when someone is trying to make the games playable on their psp. Lastly, try to understand what you're talking about before you start....
can not get GT to work. followed all directions perfectly.running 5.5 Gen B2. keep getting error 80020148...please help
I cant get this to work woth Yugioh Tag Force 4. These are the steps I take:1)I open the ISO in UMDGen.2)I navigate to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE.3)I extract EBOOT.BIN.4)Place EBOOT.BIN in root of PSP.5)I run the Decrypter.6)I take the new EBOOT.BIN from the DECRYPTOR folder and place that into PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE and it asks if I want to replace the existing file and I choose to replace.7)I save is as an ISO and put it on my PSP but when I try to play it it still says unable to start.Am I doing something wrong?
you need to modify the eboot.bin from PSP_GAME/SYSDIRNot PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE

get your facts straight, 5.50 gen b2 runs all homebrew perfect, just make sure they are the latest version
Not iR Shell. Get YOUR facts straight. And don't say anything about the patch because it's not 100%
irshell is the only reason I won't run gen. xmb sucks.
I do have bitten the bullet, and installed GEN. Sorry M33 team, but if keepin' your firmware means not playin' new games, I'll pass.

yeah use any UMD/ISO extracter and find the Eboot and put it into the root of your PSP start the Yoshi's tool and there will be a new folder into your PSP and take the Eboot and put it into the ISO
