PSPZ: the PSP Touch Screen Project

Well I'll be damned... Never thought I'd witness a homebrew project of this stature. If the PSP Motion Kit/Driver blew your face off, wait till you see this...

Combining three elements -- software, hardware, and Jube's brain -- will create something so mind-blowing you'll be left staring at the 50 second mark in awe. Introducing Jube's PSP touch screen project -- PSPZ.

Jube mentions the code will be released soon. And as for the hardware side of things, we're not so sure yet. We'll keep you posted as PSPZ evolves.

Mad props, Jube.

nice!

thats cool maybe they can make it work with a phone app

How?

A little late but i guess a decent touch screen mod could be fun to use with some touchscreen homebrew.

holy cabron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja hijo e puta

my guess is he used this touch screen as its the only psp touch screen there is lolhttp://www.sparkfun.com/commer...

Can this be used with the stock screen or is it necessary to purchase their brand of LCD screen? This is quite interesting and I think homebrew could get a second wind with this tech :D

cant even prove tat it is the PSP,damn it show us the PSP and turn the light on PLS

Was thinking the same damn thing. I aint believing it till some psp is revealed, while the demenstration is being recorded.

Its fake.

totally fake in every way!!!if you look close you can see the trails from where a hand was erased from the video!!(look at the part where the "supposed" touch screen in flipping thru pics, you can see the upper right trigger button is being pushed by a finger and not by the "touch" screen!!!

Just a big FAKE.In some of the movie, where you could could see where the power light is meant to be, It wasnt glowing, its not a PSP.

Or his fingers on it.....While I understand the internet has made us all skeptical, just flat out calling someone a liar is not particularly productive. Pointing out your concerns of the video in a constructive way is one thing, as good points have been raised about the video(the power light, and the fact you don't see what the hardware actually is). But instead of doing that, they instead use the ever popular argument of typing in all caps(FAKE!!!!), possibly just annoying someone who did in fact successfully bring touch screen to the psp. I mean, it doesn't seem that impossible, with the link above showing a touch screen being sold for the psp. Whats with that anyways? How long has that been there and whos been using it and for what? p.s. And if I was going to fake this, I would just make a video of the "software" and touch the screen when appropriate.

with a well written comment like that, I here by rename you to "Master Bates"....umm.... ya....

thts kool and all, but i cant have tht only they can.

having a touchscreen PSP is totally tits!!!

Hah wow this would make emulation for the DS alot easier and smoother. Eventually the PSP will be the ultimate device. Used as a phone, ds, dreamcast, learning tool etc etc. And what I find funny is how they're making learning apps like Rossetta Shard but it wouldn't work if you didn't hack the psp.

Great 2 see that folks are still doing great things with the PSP!!! SONY take a look and c what we want!!!!!

JimmyD: Congratulations on coming up with a joke I've been hearing since the third grade, you're cleverness is simply jaw dropping

woh! even if this is real not like it will be mass produced or anything probly....

so that means it's not cool? assuming it's, real its still impressive, and just downright cool

I'd like to see more proof, but if it's real it's definitely something I can get behind.

There is another proof of concept video out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...Can't wait for my Dev-Unit :D

looks amazing.., but i'm wondering how it's done,,?

That is fake look closly at the video all the psp is doing is playing a video and he has just rembers what to hit on time.

This is possible, but how do you hook up the system? Where would you get the screen, and how would you connect it to the PSP?

Right on Brother, great layout, nice opinions, fantastic blog. one in a million. :)

This Blog was most helpful, your ideas are straight to the point, and the colors are cool too.
