PSP Firmware 4.00 Decrypted...
The analysis report is in. The crew who delivered custom firmware 3.95 GEN have successfully decrypted and shared their 4.00 findings...
According to their report, many PRX's were in fact modified -- pops, popsman, npdrm, np9660, mlnbridge, sysmem, umdcache, sysconf, video -- just to name a few. Fortunately it's said these changes do not pose much of a problem for the development of future custom firmwares.
Whether Dark_AleX/M33 or MIRIAM release custom firmware 4.00; that's another story. I guess we'll find out one way or the other.

yea.. but i still probably am gonna stick with 3.90m33-3i use irshell to much.. unless one of the other shells get better then im gonna stay with 3.90
doesn't the patch make it so you can use any firmware? If I'm not mistaken, it removes the firmware check...
@soulr3aperyes that's true. i think it's the boot.bin that checks firmware. and thats disabled on cfw

Uhhh, NervOS. It's a great Shell. It will soon replace irshell soon. And it has the latest support.
i dont know i still like irshell cuz of all the features in it or at least the ones neros hasnt had built in it yet.

Lol i'm sure Dark_AleX has already decrypted the firmware. He doesn't post it on his blog on his site :( As for GEN they do. Also i expect m33 to be a better release than GEN. But GEN are new to the custom firmware scene they just could shock us all.
Well there was word that the flash player was updated from 6 to 7, which allows some flash support. Perhaps if one of them were able to make it so some videos worked they would be the victor in the firmwires. Because honestly, i like psptube and everything but it get's annoying having to use a program that doesn't always work for everything.

it takes time to release an great release. i sure dont like the way ppl requesting and procrcinating about my release. also not when some one on ebay selling my CFW for 50 USD.

because if you remember, people were fucking DEMANDING 3.80M33 and once he officially anounces 4.00 M33 (if he even does it) then people are gonna be like "what the fuck is taking so long?!? FUCK DAX!!!" but of course they'r gonna update as soon as its released.

This is about the only psp news site that i' ve found that renders reasonably in the psp's browser. If you are having problems viewing this site on your psp, use the smart-fit option.Don't even try to surf QJ.net sites with the psp's browser, they slow the browser to a crawl, and quite often causes it to bomb with an out of memory error.
Yes the Battle of M33 VS GEN who'll be the winner? my personal belief is m33 duh Dark_AleX, Dark_AleX has had more expierance hes got math on his side and the other Russian coders which are a great help. But well see..Go M33!!!!!
Oh AND THE 4.XX KERNAL IS Similar is not the same as 3.xx kernal so hopefully homebrew wont be a problem if it is then hopefully they add 3.xx and 1.5x

i rilly wish they can just integrate youtube instead of that lousy stupid google search garbage so it would sort of work like psptube right from the xmb in game but instead just scroll all the way to the right then search youtube videos or better yet search links with videos etc i hope sony could include something close to a youtube program or of some sort.

I agree, money raking with PSP games did not happend, but they still are generating profit by selling those PSP consoles. Not less than if they have to take them back from retailers as non moving stock and recycle them. First generation of units was sold for $349, when US dollar was healthy and strong. Right there they had to make a ton of money, because they sell more sophisticated new version with the new game and 1GB memstick for $189 now and still make a buck. Hell no, Sony never did and never will loose money on PSP.
Yeah & the video game companies have nobody to blame but themselves. Most PSP games just suck. I'll stick to my old PS1 games....
