Custom Firmware 3.90 M33-2 Released
Sony, what'cha gonna do when Dark_AleX runs wild with custom firmware updates on you? For those who haven't spotted this via Network Update, here is 3.90 M33-2.
3.90 M33-2 changes:
- Improvements in plugins loading code:
- Fixed some problems with problematic cards due to file system not mounted.
- Now plugins should read the faster.
- Problem fixed with lines with spaces at the end.
- Added the rest of regions to the recovery option fake region.
- (PSP SLIM): Added patches in nand ipl to allow Booster multiiplloader and TimeMachine iplloader to boot from nand.
- Note: only 3.90 M33-2 and higher can be booted from nand in slim with those ipl loaders, not official Sony firmwares or previous versions of M33.
Changes in updater:
- The 3.90 eboot downloading code is now more stable, no more freezes after selecting AP
- Memory stick write in the 3.90 downloading code is delayed the maximum possible for faster operation (the system prefers big chunks of data written at once).

does this update has the support for 8gig MS?
I haven't updated to m33-2 and my 8 gig stick is working with 3.90 m33.....

this update allowed slim users with Pandora batteries to use it as a normal one and boot to the xmb as well. (sweet)

None of my ISOs/CSOs work anymore with this update, how do you downgrade back to 3.90m33?!

i hope that there is also a bugfix in loading savedata files on games such as tekken, sega rally, bomberman, etc.

Does popsloader work with 3.90 M33-2?
yes popsloader works, i was just playing resident evil before. However, i did realize that when using the browser the home button loses functionality, i have to reboot inorder to get back to the XMB .. any ideas?
try hitting circle 'til it says it will close the browser and choose yes.
Does this include the 1.50 kernel fix?

my psp shuts down randomly on 3.90 m33 i think its a bug, but it shuts down randomly . and when i turn it on it comes bak to the xmb . does this update fix this problem????

why i can't update via network???? i activated it alr.... it keep saying "your psp already had the newest ver... blah blah blah... and no update is needed"anyone have the same prob??
oh wait i fixed it. i went to the m33 recovery menu and i ran the eboot and everythign got wiped out form da memory stick lucky i had backup lol . any way it doesnt switch off randomly anymore.
when i try to update to 390 m33-2 i get error a the game could not be started or load pleae help
try switching the kernel to 390
Ouh, great, I had a brick on the update, I downloaded the update files from network update und run the updat, had 79% of bat. the settup finished, and it needed to restart, and then it bricked, just a black screen. I can get in the recovery.. My friend had a brick too from thins update.. I use slim, is there any way to unbrick without pandora?
the only way to unbrick that i know of is to use a pandora battery and the app desperato-cemetaro..something like that..the newest version can be found at dark-alex.org ..if you dont have a battery there is no chance of getting your psp unbricked..the app i mentioned above has to be run on a cfw and u must have 1.50, 3.40 and 3.80 official firmwares...it works..i just used to it go from an official to a custom on a slim in no time at all..hope this helps out..
so how did u get the pandora to load on slim, mines not doing it... what do i need???
I have 3.80 official. Why can't I update to 3.90 CFW? It doesn't load. I get an error.

I updated to 3.90 M33 - 2. My right shoulder button sticks allot and if using a game and select home button it will not let me choose either yes or no and I have to take the battery out to get back to the main screen. And if does re boot it boots into recovery mode its self. And if you go into a menu to enter your name i.e. Nickname in the system menu it seems to stick on going right and nothing stops it unless you come back out of the menu. I have had OE 3.03 to 3.52 M33 to 3.71 M33 with no problems before. Only since moving to 3.90 M33. Any suggestions. I have no idea what to do in recovery mode, or no clue about cpu speeds and such like. I do not have kernel installed as I dont use homebrew, does this make a difference playing back up ISO's and I did not install the flash 0 as I am unsure what this is for as it says backup and didnt thought I needed this and I never seemed to have needed to install this before.
Just an update encase it helps anyone else. While taking out the battery and placing it back in the sysytem reset and went through the motion like it was Default reset. Since then no more problems but I did install the Kernel 1.50 and 2nd update. Not sure if it was that or the reset.
Hm. Sounds like I'll be sticking with 3.52 M33
anybody here updated through the network update on XMB? i get "a connection to the server could not be established. (80431068)" error message. and before the flaming starts yes i know i can update through the memory stick!;) just want to point it out so it can be fixed.:) im on 3.90 m33 by the way.
does 3.90 M33-2 let u play psx games and they wont freeze like 3.80 or is it just who ever uploads the games?
my popsloader isnt working when i upgraded to 3.90 m33-2, not sure why since all of u guys claim that it still works....

Why would u want to use the network update when u are using a cfw? that would take u back to an official release if im not mistaken..
Gweedo81 no they wont. im not sure when DA manage to hack the network update. this enabled you to update through network update to the newest CFW not OFW.
