Serve N' Go v3 Released
Update: If you're experiencing technical difficulties with Serve N' Go running on your PSP, please read this comment by Sousanator...
If you cannot get it working it is because you NEED a MUSIC folder in PSP eg: ms0:/PSP/MUSIC
you do not need any mp3s in there, just need the folder
This is because of the built in custom MP3 player
This homebrew game totally reminds me of a time when I was a wee lad playing Donald Duck's Playground on the Commodore 64. Thanks for keeping that memory alive Sousanator. And with that said, here's another one submitted within the remaining hours of the PSP Hacks homebrew contest -- Serve N' Go!
Serve N' Go puts you in the shoes of a fast food employee who must attend to each customer in a timely manner. Find the requested food, grab it, bring it to the counter and you've got yourself 3 points. Seal the deal and earn yourself another 10 points. To spice things up a bit, Serve N' Go comprises 4 game modes: Story, Survival, Speed, and Classic.
Version 3 includes:
- custom background music (your MP3 collection)
- 4 different game modes
- multiple themes to choose from
- difficulty settings (because some complain it is to hard I defaulted it to 60%, but I enjoy it at around 85%)
- and much more smile
v3 has been entirely re-written in C; previous versions were LUA-based. Good job.

Aww, I really wanna try this game. When I choose a game from the serve n' go menu (story, survival, etc), it just doesn't load. It freezes and my psp reboots =(
What Firmware are you on? Im on 3.10OE-A' and it works perfectly.
I've got the same problem as you... I'm on 3.10 OE-A' and as soon as I chose the game mode, completely freezes up, and shuts down. :(
Maybe he was in a rush to meet the dead-line, because this game doesn't even work -_-
Works perfectly fine for me. Gets a bit repetitive after a wile though.

I guess it might not work on 3.40-OE, oh well. Atleast it can get to the menu of the game.

didnt work here too.. got v3.40OE-A .. put in GAME and also tried on GAME340 none works :(
did u try holding the R-Trigger on boot and going into the recovery menu, then going to advanced and "game kernal" make sure it says "1.5 kernal and not 3.40 kernal"

Yerp when you make a folder named MUSIC in the psp/ folder its works finally (as stated above) CHEERS
folder is there already .. with my music .. still not workin
i was havin alot of mp3's more than 300 maybe thats why now .. after i removed some it works ;)thx
hey this is a great idea. since some Mc D have wifi points mabe this will be picked up commercially and we can eat a big Mac while we download it. hey they may even use this as a training aid and send high score rankers job aps. nice......

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable.
