P-TV - Portable TV on your PSP!

Well it's coming for real.
In Japan you soon can watch TV on your PSP.
This mean that it will only take days, weeks or months when we got it as well.

Check out the site.
http://www.p-tv.jp

What site

lol most of seen the post as you where posting it lmao

Link is there. hihi

I wonder how it will work. It will probarly be streamed trough internet, which is kinda sad, since the only place I will be able to watch TV in will be my apartment, where I already have a perfect sized TV. :/

Looks cool! I hope it comes to America!I added the little screenshot. Nice find ripclaw.

"Also, a new service will be released. Its called "Portable TV". You'll be able to connect to the Portable TV website on the new web browser, and will be able to download content straight to your PSP's Memory Stick DUO."So... you do not stream it? You'll have to download it like a regular file? Sad. :/ Streaming would be cooler.

Sucks balls. I think an add-on device that has a TV tuner and AV inputs would be much cooler.

Thanks, gregNow i know how to that aswell, hahaha

Uh oh when you click on the link at the bottom of the page it says so-net this is a japanese television channel so unless another television channel takes up the tv idea in other countrys you will only be able to what something thats in japanese.SORRY

i cant read the article so can someone give me the link to the site for the tv and post the article.

In Canada they have TV coming to cellphones through the cellphone signal. I doubt the PSP can compete with this, because all it can use is WLAN. PSP is only good for downloadable content.

you will have to have the new 2.0 firmware

http://www.p-tv.com/who's want's to buy it?

hmm i do the same thing with ffmpeg/psp video 9 and bittorrent already....

I like the idea of downloading it, but they might just have shitty videos. iM SURE THAT THERE WILL BE HUNDREDS OF SITES THAT WILL (Stupid caps lock!) have this ability up with stuff we all like like southpark, family guy, simpsons, and other good shit. Looks like the firmware desnt release today! I was *sadly* right... :(

is this portable tv thing going to be streaming or just downloaded? if its just downloaded then that sucks.

"This mean that it will only take days, weeks or months when we got it as well."Wait, I'm sorry? Days, WEEKS, OR MONTHS!?! WTF?!?! ONLY days, yes. ONLY weeks, maybe. BUT ONLY MONTHS!!?? WTF?!?

That would be cool if could let you geet a local tv channel to watch southpark or simpsons when you want to. But I also have the idea of just downloading, just to get the stuff you want. Or i just could be wrong

They just need to come out with the damn update asap.

big deal if its just a download. i have a dvr on my pc so i already have tv on my psp for free any show on directv can be on my psp i have last weeks family guy on my psp right now. so im sure this will cost you. only people who dont know how to use a pc will like this not for the hardcore we already have tv on our psp.streamed would be better also im not updating my psp to 2.0 i like the homebrew stuff a lot better then some tv shows that i can get for free

I can already download TV shows (BT) and put them on my PSP.

im so getting one when it gets here i dont know why japan gets all there stuff first!

hey guys, reading on the sony website, the browser should be realeased on the 27th of this month, but not sure if thats american or not..... fingers crossed

its Sony's way to force u update the fw. careful.

it's not for north america, japan only. korea has had it for a while and the europene PSP will come with V2.0.we should be getting it soon. Im guess a couple of weeks after the 27th. Im sure they'll want to see if there are any problems. 2.3 million psps D-loading V2.0 has got to bring up.

Why are so many people saying streaming is better? If you stream, you have to be within the range of your router, unless you have like a portable hub with a wireless card in it(not sure if they make them). And if your within the range of your router, chances are your within the range of your tv. Not really worth it to me. And all the people complaining about how it's coming out too late, just get a p2p program like limewire or something, you can get tons of episodes of shows there and put them on the psp, WITHOUT the update. In other words, this isn't really new.

The only good thing streaming would be used for is if someone else is using the tv.

streaming tv would be great in an airport or on a lunch break... whatever... there are wifi hotspts all over the place

Lmao, Comiming soon

in korea they already have this service. japan is not the first one.

it is worth it if you ask me, it also has a web browser

nice grammar: "...when we got it as well." haha jk jk

Couldn't anyone come up with a homebrew browser. v2.0 would not be needed then. And let's start a "Crack 2.0@home" community, where the computers of all of us will help to crack 2.0'S password.

mmm. VLC for PSP, that would kick ass.

they already got tv on cell phone i can whach tv with my cell but i cant wait till 2.0 comes out i hope itz better.

eyy doggs eyyy, how do you watch tv on your psp is it for free or what and can you watch it live or what

mmm. VLC for PSP, that would kick ass. That's a good idea... It's open source and has been ported to pocket pc, it shouldn't be too hard to port to psp. It's times like these I wish I had paid attention in my C++ class. -_-

Ya I have a computer home entertainment system and i can record anything off my satelite like south park, family guy, the simpsons etc without paying shit then all I have to do is reformat with psp video 9 and put on my psp's 1 gig memory stick that I got as a gift. I wonder how old raider x is.

wow this freakin rocxxors, can't wait!

this is pointless its just like downloading a file except ure being charged and it takes up half ure mem stick size, if i wanted to do that id download family guy for free, its like friken itunes for the psp, im not gonna sit next to my tv download a show for a half hour get billed $19.99 and watch it on my psp for 17 min, this would ONLY be nice if u could get dish service through ure router and its streamed in real time

Who said they will charge?

that'll be 4 bucks, babyyyy!!!u want fries with that??!

im using the update to talk to u rite now

can ani1 translate it..??cos its jepan version,bsides it need a user id...fuckin gay...reply plz...A.S.A.P

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Superior post! this will absolutely support me.

I must show my thanks to you just for rescuing me from this particular crisis. Because of scouting through the the net and getting notions which are not productive, I figured my life was well over. Living minus the approaches to the difficulties you have sorted out all through your good article content is a serious case, and the ones that might have in a negative way affected my entire career if I had not encountered the website. Your personal know-how and kindness in taking care of all the stuff was priceless. I am not sure what I would've done if I had not encountered such a point like this. I'm able to at this moment look forward to my future. Thank you very much for your expert and amazing guide. I won't be reluctant to propose your blog post to any person who needs to have guidelines about this issue.

I must convey my passion for your kindness in support of women who require help with that field. Your special dedication to passing the solution around appears to be extraordinarily insightful and has regularly encouraged regular people much like me to get to their targets. Your new warm and friendly information means much a person like me and even further to my office workers. With thanks; from everyone of us.
