This is awesome. They didn't lie the first time they told us they were going to release something, so why would they start now? Now they're promising us a swapfree exploit.I bet you anything that they found a way to "emulate" the swapping onto 1 memory stick with a loader that automatically does it for you.Great job, PSP-DEV!

I think what they may do is, jsut take the memory stick out once and then put it back in per system boot. And the files re-arrange/rename themselves in this process.

Yeah, this will be a great release. This has been a good week. Battlefield 2 gets released, now the news of this. I have to go buy another PSP though. I accidentally updated mine to 1.51, I figured with Quake 2 and Duke Nukem being able to be played I HAVE to go back and get a 1.5. Thanks for all your hard work PSP-DEV Keep it up and don't let these lamers get to you. There are still intelligent people out there that understand patience.

mikeg, it was deleted by accident, sorry. poor mouse control early in the morning - got the shakes. :) We try our best to moderate the comments as much as possible, but us both (the two admins) have full time jobs leaving it rather difficult to sit here and constantly watch for useless/obscene comments.

I have to say I was getting doubtful our 1.50's were hackable at one point.. But now there is a light at the end of the tunnel! So far all these hacks are great and make the PSP definetely worth our pennies. Considering how SONY decided to release about 5 games between now and August (jerks). All we need now is a better SNES emulator that runs full frames and maybe a N64 emulator too...

I beleive that this is a frimware downgrade so if you where one of those bitchies that could not do the swap exploit then do not even log tomowwor for this exploit expecting something easy and a third grader cold do.This is just a warn for those bitching the last time.The swap exploit was the only way in the psp. It was just a matter of time that it would then lead us to background changeing and such.

i think its gonna be a program that does the swap and re-aranges folders like the swap which would be preety simple IF windows allowed u to give 2 folders the same name but a bet a some software could easly patch that up if u told it where to find the second folder

I think it will be like this.You still need 2 files, but you run off ROOT.PBP and then a line of code makes it switch to ROOT2.PBP. That seems so simple doesnt it?

That's really awesome. I'm in love with PSP-Dev. They definately deserve the donations.To be honest, I'm really just interested in the progress on cracking 1.51, if any. I upgraded unfortunately, and I'm curious to get an idea of how long it will be.I doubt it, but if this works with 1.51 as well, I would be eternally grateful. I suppose it is just a matter of time till they crack 1.51, however.Anyone got any news?

jleno,Why would anyone kiss your azzz? I bought my 1.0 for $308. So I either sell my 1.5 for $250 and have still paid less then the cost of a second memory stick which is what MOST people did here. Or I sell the 1.0 for more money then I paid for it. Either way I made money or saved money on the deal. Plus, the 1.0 will still be easier to use as it loads all apps with no extra steps.So how about you keep your azzz in your pants where it belongs. No one wants to see that ugly thing!!!

I was fully happy with the swap ploit, to me this no-swap hack is just an added bounus. My hat goes off to PSP-DEV for all the hard work they have done... now back to zelda on the psp :).

meh, i am happy either way... now emulators for snes and genesis needs to upgraded... i hate those frigging slow ass game play. even zelda didnt play properly in the videoooo

I wonder why they bothered to make a new video??? Their first video showed a no swap method. Which is what ticked most people off to being with.

It is not completely No-Swap, you must swap one time, just notice how they kept the video dark on the beginning, while they did their trick. Once you swap it loads the proper software so that you won't need to swap again, unless you turn off your PSP.

I think 48 might be right. From the looks of the video you might need to perform a swap trick once then after that you might be able to load any program you want without swapping. That is until you turn it off. I just can't shake the fact that the video is pitch black as first. They make the worst videos.... on purpose.We'll see tomorrow.
